Page Vows To Reintroduce Himself At UFC Paris

Michael "Venom" Page says his fight against Nursulton Ruziboev at UFC Paris this Saturday is about reminding fans and matchmakers why the promotion signed him in the first place.

The British welterweight, who has won five of six under the UFC banner but failed to deliver the highlight-reel finishes that made his name in Bellator, faces No. 15-ranked Ruziboev despite sitting at No. 8 himself. Top welterweights have consistently declined to face him, forcing Page to compete at middleweight for opportunities, according to MMA Mania.

Page's Plan To Prove He's Still That Guy

"My output needs to be a bit more," Page told One on One. "I know I'm still capable of doing it because I still do it in the gym, so I'm still capable of getting those results. So, yeah, I want this last fight here is me reintroducing myself to the UFC and to the world. To say, 'Alright, yeah. He's still that guy.'"

The 37-year-old added that he views the stakes as motivation rather than burden. "I need to remind you guys who I am, why you wanted me in the first place, and what I can do," he said. Page also expressed frustration with UFC's restrictions on fighter walkouts, saying he was only allowed a cape for his Undertaker entrance despite wanting to do more.

Another lackluster performance could see the promotion decline to renew his contract. UFC Paris airs Saturday on ESPN Plus.
