Paddy Pimblett drops $13,700 on Ilia Topuria corner stool
Paddy Pimblett paid $13,700 for the corner stool Ilia Topuria sat on during his stoppage loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250.
The Liverpool lightweight, per Sherdog, acquired the piece after Topuria's corner waved off the lightweight title fight at the end of the fourth round at the White House. Pimblett revealed the purchase on Instagram with a post captioned "Collector's item."
Pimblett targets Topuria with latest provocation
The stool carries added weight given how the fight ended. Gaethje battered Topuria through rounds three and four, leading to the corner stoppage between frames. Pimblett has repeatedly claimed the Georgian-Spaniard quit on the stool, though the decision to end the bout came from Topuria's team.
The rivalry between the two lightweights dates back to 2022, when Pimblett made comments about Georgia that sparked tension. The feud boiled over at a London fighter hotel that year when Pimblett threw a bottle of hand sanitizer at Topuria during a confrontation.
Pimblett went the full five rounds with Gaethje earlier this year in his own title challenge, losing on the scorecards but earning praise for his effort. Topuria was a heavy favorite going into UFC Freedom 250 and had celebrated the day before the bout, continuing a pre-fight ritual from previous camps.
