Osmanli Calls Akylbek Uulu A Clown After TUF 34 DQ Loss

Mehemmedali Osmanli accused Ilimbek Akylbek Uulu of exaggerating an illegal knee that handed him a disqualification loss in the TUF 34 bantamweight final.

The pair met at UFC Vegas 121 on Sept. 26 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, with bad blood stemming from their time together on Michael Bisping's team during filming. Osmanli landed a knee on a grounded Akylbek Uulu less than halfway through the opening round. The Kyrgyz fighter could not continue, and referee Marc Goddard waved off the contest.

Osmanli Questions Opponent's Injury After First-Round DQ

Osmanli claimed on Instagram Live that his opponent embellished the damage once the official intervened. According to Sherdog, Osmanli said Akylbek Uulu grabbed his leg immediately after the strike but switched to theatrics when the ref stopped the action. "He's fake," Osmanli said. "First, he take my leg. When referee stopped, he [put on a] show, like a clown."

The disqualification marked the second defeat of Osmanli's professional career and ended a nine-fight unbeaten run. Akylbek Uulu advanced as TUF 34 bantamweight winner despite the controversial finish.

Both fighters are expected to remain on the UFC roster following the season finale.
