O'Shaquie Foster demands Emanuel Navarrete unification next

WBC featherweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super featherweight champion O'Shaquie Foster has drawn a line in the sand over his next move, telling The Ring Magazine that he wants Emanuel Navarrete next or he's moving up to 140 pounds.

Foster, who reclaimed the WBC strap with a majority decision over Robson Conceicao replacement Raymond Ford on May 30, said he's tired of waiting for a shot at Navarrete, the IBF and WBO titleholder. "It would have to be like next," Foster told the outlet. "I've tried to get Navarrete a lot of times now, so the time is now. If we can't make it now, then I don't see the reason to stay around 130 if I can't get the unifications."

Foster-Navarrete could crown Ring Magazine champion at 130

Navarrete stopped Eduardo Nunez in 11 rounds in February to unify two belts and sits atop The Ring's featherweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super featherweight rankings. Foster is ranked second. A unification bout between the two would determine The Ring's 130-pound champion, with WBA titlist Anthony Cacace the division's third-ranked fighter.

Foster thoroughly outboxed Ford over the second half of their bout after a competitive opening six rounds. The fight ended with an in-ring confrontation between Foster and Shakur Stevenson, who had been in Ford's corner. Stevenson holds The Ring and WBO belts at 140 pounds.

Foster made clear the Stevenson beef remains more personal. "I beat his son," he said of the altercation, per The Ring. "I think all them emotions he got, I think it's because he's scared now. I think he knows that the walls is closing in, and that the fans and the world is gonna be asking for that fight now."

Foster is 25-3 with 12 knockouts. Navarrete, 31, carries a 40-2-1 record with 33 stoppages and is ranked 10th on The Ring's pound-for-pound list.
