Oliveira Pays Tribute To Fallen Teammate Nascimento
Charles Oliveira has paid tribute to his longtime teammate Allan Nascimento, who died of a heart attack over the weekend in Brazil at the age of 34.
Nascimento went 4-2 in the UFC and was regarded as one of the sharpest grapplers in the flyweight division. Oliveira cornered him through many of those fights, and the bond between the two ran deep. Hours after the UFC announced Nascimento's passing, Oliveira broke his silence on social media.
"Today I lost a brother that fighting gave me,. Thank you forever for sharing the mats, the training, and everything we've been through together. I have nothing but gratitude for having you by my side — in training, in our corner, and in all the moments we shared. I love you, man. You were an incredible guy. I can't believe it. You will be missed a lot,” Oliveira
Nascimento last competed in June, less than two months before his death. He leaves behind family, friends, and a team still processing the shock of losing him so suddenly. Oliveira is expected to return next month to defend his BMF title against Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 331, though nothing has been formally announced.
