Oliveira Vows To Carry Nascimento's Legacy After Funeral

Charles Oliveira pledged that Allan Nascimento's legacy will endure at Chute Boxe following his teammate's funeral Wednesday.

Members of the Brazilian gym formed a guard of honor and applauded as Nascimento's casket was carried from the academy. The UFC flyweight died in his sleep after suffering a heart attack. He was 34.

Oliveira's Emotional Promise To Nascimento

The former lightweight champion posted a tearful message on Instagram after the service. "Allanzito, you were always an example of commitment, discipline and character to our team," Oliveira said, per Sherdog. "Be sure your legacy will never be forgotten. Now we have something even greater to fight for. Every time we step into the cage, you will be there with us, yelling 'Heeyyy.' The spirit of Chute Boxe has only grown stronger."

Nascimento joined the UFC in 2021 and won four of six Octagon appearances before his death. The Brazilian flyweight fought out of Curitiba and trained alongside Oliveira at the storied Chute Boxe academy.

Oliveira currently holds the UFC's BMF title and is expected to return to competition later this year.
