Oliveira On Teammate Nascimento's Sudden Death

Charles Oliveira is grieving the sudden death of longtime training partner Allan Nascimento.

The former UFC lightweight champion posted a tribute to Nascimento on social media following news of the flyweight's passing. "Today I lost a brother," Oliveira wrote, per MMA Mania.

Nascimento's UFC Career And Chute Boxe Ties

Nascimento competed in the UFC flyweight division and most recently weighed in for a fight at the promotion's Apex facility in Las Vegas in June. The Brazilian trained alongside Oliveira at Chute Boxe in Sao Paulo, where the two developed a close bond over years in the same gym.

No cause of death has been announced. Oliveira's post reflected the tight-knit nature of their training camp, where fighters often spend more time together than with their own families. The loss marks another tragedy for the Brazilian MMA community, which has seen several athletes pass unexpectedly in recent years.

Oliveira is scheduled to return to the octagon later this year, though no opponent has been confirmed. Details on memorial arrangements for Nascimento have not been made public.
