Ngannou Trolls Fury With A Manchester United Shirt
Francis Ngannou has taunted Tyson Fury ahead of their fight on October 28th, 2023.
Ngannou faces the WBC heavyweight champion in what will be his boxing debut. Clearly, the former UFC heavyweight champion faces an uphill task to come out victorious.
Therefore, Ngannou will have to be at the top of his game to come away with a win. And by the looks of it, Ngannou has already started the mind games.
Francis had attended Manchester United’s game against Borussia Dortmund. The ‘Red Devil’s’ lost the game 3-2, however, in the aftermath Ngannou was pictured with a Manchester United shirt.
Not only that, but he was also pictured meeting their manager Erik Ten Hag. And given that Fury is a Manchester United fan, Ngannou sought to milk it for what it was worth.
Ngannou’s Post
"@manchesterunited’s favorite heavyweight boxer is in the building [winking face]. Can’t wait to watch the match tonight in Vegas," Ngannou on Instagram
Ultimately, the mind games may not impact Fury. The ‘Gypsy King’ has shown throughout his boxing career that he can get the upper hand.
This was most notably seen in the build up to facing Wladimir Klitschko. Fury infamously appeared wearing a ‘Batman’ costume, as he beat up the Joker. Thereafter, Fury issued a stern warning by promising to do the same to Klitschko.
In addition, Fury also recalled a sauna story in which he allegedly outlasted Klitschko. Although the latter denied anything of the sort, Fury’s mind games were one facet that enabled him to beat Klitschko.
"I’m at his training camp, we’re in the sauna, about ten guys in the sauna.
"And it came down to me and Wlad in the sauna. Do you remember this Wladimir, at all? It gets down to him and I’m over the other side. I’ve only had 12 or 13 fights, but still, in my mind I was mentally in a competition with him.
"He can say what he wants, he can deny it, whatever. I was prepared to die in that sauna before I got out. I stayed in for like 40 minutes," Fury recalled
With that being said, Francis faces a tall order.
