Nate Diaz Warns Jake Paul, McGregor Involved In Another Controversial Moment
Nate Diaz has warned Jake Paul that he is in for a major war when they cross paths on August 5th, 2023.
Diaz is making his boxing debut in what will be his first fight since his win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 last year. Although Paul is the favorite, Diaz is feeling confident heading into the fight.
The MMA star took issue with a few things that Paul has had to say. The ‘Problem Child’ has hit out at Diaz on the basis that the MMA star was not doing enough to promote the fight.
Although that may be the case, Diaz’s recent sparring video went viral which did go some way to publicize their bout.
And in any event, a fight of such magnitude does speak for itself. Having said that, though, Diaz did have some fighting talk.
"This guy thinks he’ll actually beat everybody’s f****** ass and he’s louder than all you fools who are really beating people’s asses. So now I have to step the f*** out to box real quick and whip this motherf*****’s ass so we’ll know who’s the real ass whipper.
"Understand what I’m saying. People saying, ‘Oh, it’s a mismatch’ and this and that. Well, then you f****** fight him, motherf*****.
"Make sure the best fights are happening because that’s what I’m here to see when I’m watching fighting. And this fools poppin’ off in interviews: ‘We’re real fighters.’ Prove it motherf*****. I’mma go beat his ass for talkin’ s***," Diaz
Paul’s Preparation
In contrast, Paul is going the extra mile to hype up the fight. The former shared a video of him in camp with the women’s undisputed featherweight champion, Amanda Serrano.
The Puerto Rican can be seen punching Paul numerous times to the body, as he soaks in the pressure while drinking some fluids.
That promo will only go on to bring in the casual fans since Serrano is a big-name star that has crossed over into the public eye outside of boxing.
Chandler On McGregor
From one MMA star to another, Michael Chandler is still talking up the potential for a cage fight with Conor McGregor.
Reports of a fight have been ongoing for some time, as both fighters are currently crossing paths as coaches of TUF 31.
The ‘Notorious’ saw his team secure their first win of the season, as he avoided a whitewash to take the overall tally to 7-1 for team Chandler.
Although that may be the case, there is no sign that McGregor will enter the cage anytime soon.
McGregor has not yet entered into the USADA testing pool, which requires fighters to have two negative samples in a six-month period before they can fight.
The spirit of the sport will be damaged if McGregor does circumvent the requirements, even if an exemption can be given. Nevertheless, Chandler remains optimistic that a fight can happen.
"I do think it’s a must-win for both of us,” Chandler said. “I need to continue to stamp my name as one of the best lightweights in the world. Yes,
"I’m 2-3 fighting the best guys in the world, in the weight class. I came in, nobody’s had a stronger strength of schedule right away when they came into the UFC than I have, and that’s what I asked for.
"That’s what I wanted. That’s what I believe Conor saw in me. He needs a big dance partner to have the biggest fight possible, the biggest stage possible. This is a must-win for both of us," Chandler said
McGregor’s Hasty Exit
However, for McGregor, the star has had a lot on his plate. The Irishman visited a pub in Liverpool as his visit garnered a lot of attention for the wrong reasons.
Therefore, fans became concerned over what had happened. McGregor had been in Liverpool to attend the funeral of his auntie. But it turns out that things took a turn for the worst.
McGregor was seen leaving the pub with his security after allegedly seeing an altercation. And things became more worrying, as McGregor’s social media activity showed the following post: "Murder, murder, everybody out, Scousers on the golly."
In response, Merseyside Police confirmed the following: "We were called to The Saddle pub in Prenton, Wirral, at 7.50pm last night, Tuesday, July 18, to reports of an altercation.
"Officers attended the pub and spoke to a number of people. "Further enquiries are being carried out to establish what has taken place but at this stage no complaints have been made and nobody has been arrested."
Paul, Diaz and McGregor are some of the most controversial figures in combat sports. But that is equally a reason as to why they have garnered such a large fan base. And there is no getting away from that.
