MVP opens Rousey vs. Carano fight week to public for free
Most Valuable Promotions confirmed Tuesday that every event during fight week for Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano will be free and open to the public ahead of the May 16 card at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
Open workouts kick off Wednesday, May 13 at Venice Beach Basketball Courts starting at 6 p.m. PT, with Rousey, Carano, Nate Diaz, Mike Perry, Francis Ngannou, Philipe Lins, Salahdine Parnasse, Junior dos Santos, Muhammed Mokaev, and Adriano Moraes all scheduled to appear, per MMA Fighting. The workouts will stream live on MVP’s YouTube channel and Netflix Sports’ channel.
Press conference and ceremonial weigh-ins also free entry
The final press conference takes place Thursday, May 14 at the Intuit Dome Outdoor Plaza at 6 p.m. PT, featuring every fighter on the card including those in the three featured bouts. Ceremonial weigh-ins follow Friday, May 15 at the same venue and time, with all 22 fighters stepping on the scale. Both events will also stream on YouTube, according to MMA Mania.
All fight week activities are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Preliminary fights for Rousey vs. Carano start Saturday, May 16 at 3 p.m. PT on Netflix’s Tudum platform and MVP’s YouTube, with the main card beginning at 6 p.m. PT exclusively on Netflix.
Rousey has not competed since taking back-to-back knockout losses in UFC in 2016. Carano last fought in 2009 when she dropped a decision to Cris Cyborg in Strikeforce. The card also features Ngannou vs. Lins and Diaz vs. Perry, though the exact bout order has not been finalized.
