MVP Forms Alliance With Matchroom On Women's Boxing

Most Valuable Promotions and Matchroom have announced a partnership aimed at staging unifications and major matchups in women's boxing.

The two promotional outfits — MVP led by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, Matchroom by Eddie Hearn — described the agreement as a "strategic alliance" to expand the global audience for female fighters through premium events and increased commercial investment, according to Bad Left Hook. MVP also announced the signing of WBC bantamweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super bantamweight champion Skye Nicolson, who defends her belt against Miyo Yoshida on August 29 in Birmingham.

What The MVP-Matchroom Deal Means For Unifications

Paul and Bidarian said the collaboration advances their goal of building the biggest platform in the world for women's boxing. "Historically, Matchroom played an instrumental role in elevating women's boxing globally, and together we have an opportunity to create even bigger moments for the sport and the athletes driving it forward," they said in a joint statement.

Hearn called the partnership one "not many would have seen coming" but added it makes sense given both stables now feature multiple champions. "For our female fighters to chase legacy and to fight the best, this new alliance is integral," he said.

Nicolson said the move puts her in position to test herself against the best. "Women's boxing is entering a new era, and I want to be right at the centre of it," she told reporters. Her August defense against Yoshida will appear on the Chantelle Cameron-Mikaela Mayer card in Birmingham.
