Muhammad Davis On Patient Path To UFC Heavyweight Debut
Undefeated heavyweight Muhammad Davis has stopped all three opponents in 2026 after spending three years unable to book a single professional fight.
The 28-year-old joined Manchester Top Team following a nomadic upbringing that took him from San Jose to Abu Dhabi, back to California, then Turkey and Russia before settling in the United Kingdom, per MMA Mania. Davis began training Muay Thai at nine years old and later added Brazilian jiu-jitsu and boxing to his skill set. Four years of college wrestling in Russia rounded out his game.
Davis Demolishing Opponents Despite Limited Pro Experience
Davis has made up for lost time since his professional debut earlier this year. He finished his first opponent in under two minutes, knocked out his second foe in nine seconds, and stopped 6-foot-8 heavyweight Rob Lamont in round two last weekend. The three consecutive stoppages showcase the speed and power that define the new generation of heavyweight prospects, though Davis has barely needed to display the grappling he developed over years of training.
Despite the early momentum, Davis told MMA Mania he will not jump at the first UFC offer if he does not feel ready. "I'm in no rush," he said. "I know I will get there. It's inevitable. For me, it's about what I'm going to do when I get there." He added that he would rather take more regional fights than ride a hype train and fail to stick on the roster once promoted.
The 6-foot-3 fighter targets a return in November and plans to stay active while building his resume. Athletic heavyweights with finishing instincts typically attract major-promotion attention quickly, and three straight stoppages at 28 years old could force that UFC call sooner than Davis expects.
