Mike Perry vs. Dillon Danis headlines Duel crypto casino MMA show

Mike Perry will face Dillon Danis at welterweight on Aug. 29 when online crypto casino Duelbet launches a mixed combat promotion in Orlando. The bout, announced Friday by outlet Happy Punch in conjunction with matchmaker Dean Toole, tops the inaugural Duel: Arena card at Kia Arena.

The event will feature MMA alongside kickboxing and boxing, all contested in a ring, per Sherdog. Ticketing pages initially displayed the Gamebred Fighting Championship logo, suggesting Jorge Masvidal's bareknuckle or MMA league may be co-promoting.

Perry's return follows Diaz win, Danis inactive since 2019

Perry has competed across multiple combat sports since leaving the UFC in 2021, winning the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship King of Violence trophy with stoppages over Eddie Alvarez and Jeremy Stephens. He also boxed Jake Paul in 2024, losing by sixth-round stoppage, and returned to MMA in May when he forced Nate Diaz's corner to stop their bout after two rounds at the first MVP MMA show.

Danis has not fought in MMA since two catchweight bouts under Bellator in 2018 and 2019. He appeared at Misfits 22 in August 2025 but the event implemented grappling time limits and was classified as an exhibition. His 2023 boxing match against Logan Paul ended in disqualification after he attempted takedowns and a guillotine choke. Paul called Danis "a dirty, dirty human being" after the bout.

Response to the matchup has been negative, with UFC cutman Brad Tate and fighters Philip Rowe, Charles Johnson and Masvidal reacting to the Instagram announcement. Others have pushed to join the card or secure spots for training partners. Weigh-ins are expected the day before the event.
