Medic Blasts Garry Over 'Women Running World' Comment

UFC Belgrade headliner Uros Medic tore into Ian Machado Garry after the welterweight contender said the world would be better off if women ran it.

Garry made the comments during a recent appearance on the High Performance podcast, according to MMA Fighting, while discussing his wife's influence. He told the host that men should step aside and let women take over because it would make things simpler and easier for everyone.

Medic Says Men Built The World

Medic, who squares off against Daniel Rodriguez in Saturday's main event, rejected Garry's premise entirely when asked about the interview by MMA Fighting. "Just because his woman is running his world, it doesn't mean that women should run all the world, because men built the world," he said. "They've given the rights to women, and they maintain the safety and freedom [of] everybody."

Medic added that Garry could structure his personal life however he wanted but told him not to push those ideas on anyone else. "If he wants to have his world run by women, I have no problem with that," Medic said. "Just don't try to impose none of that bullshit on me."

Garry is set to challenge welterweight champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 330 after beating Belal Muhammad and Carlos Prates. Medic and Rodriguez weigh in Friday ahead of the promotion's first event in Belgrade.
