Craig Jones Reveals Melqui Galvao Threats From Jail

Craig Jones turned investigator this week, releasing a detailed breakdown of the criminal case against Melqui Galvao, the jailed Brazilian jiu-jitsu coach facing multiple charges for sexual misconduct with minors.

Jones used his YouTube platform to provide updates on the case, which has drawn little coverage outside Brazil. According to MMA Mania, Galvao — who built a youth grappling empire through his BJJ College — was arrested in April on charges including statutory rape of children under 14. Jones reported that Galvao has since obtained cellphones while detained in both Manaus and Sao Paulo, using them to contact accusers and attempt to alter their testimony.

Galvao's Brother Also Arrested On Similar Charges

Audio recordings attributed to Galvao have surfaced, per the report, with one clip stating "we need something intimate to show the judge she's not an innocent gal." Police found four cellphones in Galvao's Sao Paulo cell after receiving tips about witness tampering, one hidden in his underwear. "May 26, 2026, a court orders his continued detention. Reason: Interference with witnesses," Jones said in the video. "That same day, his brother, Enoque Galvao is arrested in Manaus."

Enoque Galvao, also a civil police officer and BJJ College coach, now faces similar charges after new accusers came forward. He is additionally charged with smuggling a cellphone to help his brother contact victims. Jones noted that nine women have filed police reports, with the youngest stating abuse began when she was 12.

Jones also detailed two past shootings connected to Melqui Galvao during his time as a police officer, including a 2011 incident in which he fired first at an unarmed man, and the unsolved 2007 shooting death of his first wife, who had written notes predicting he would "put a bullet in my head." Galvao is now seeking house arrest for shoulder surgery recovery, prompting one victim to ask, per Jones, "if he gets house arrest, where do we go?"
