Medic Tells Edwards Fight Is Next After 30-Second Belgrade KO

Uros Medic wants Leon Edwards next after blitzing Daniel Rodriguez in half a minute at UFC Belgrade on Saturday.

Medic dropped Rodriguez with strikes and finished him in 30 seconds, snapping the opponent's three-fight winning streak in the main event on Serbian soil. It marked Rodriguez's first appearance since his release from prison in April.

Medic Calls Out Edwards After Home Victory

The Serbian welterweight told reporters at the post-fight press conference that Edwards sits atop his list of targets, per MMA Junkie. "Leon Edwards next, probably," Medic said. "Leon Edwards if he makes himself available. I'm not going to bully him anymore. If he doesn't want to fight, we fight someone else. It's not a big deal."

Edwards has dropped three straight, including a brutal knockout loss to Carlos Prates in November 2025. Rocky has not won a fight since late 2023. Medic added that he wants someone ranked where Edwards sits because it puts him closer to title contention. "He is ranked where I want to be ranked, so that puts me closer to where I want to be, and that's with the belt around my waist," he said.

Medic held the No. 14 spot in the UFC welterweight rankings heading into Belgrade, one position behind Rodriguez at No. 13. The win should vault him into the top 13 when the rankings panel updates this week.
