McGregor tells Pereira to move on from Gane loss at UFC 329
Conor McGregor told Alex Pereira to move past his controversial loss to Ciryl Gane during a chance meeting at the UFC 329 ceremonial weigh-ins Friday.
Pereira attended the event in support despite not competing on the card, according to MMA Mania. The Brazilian ran into McGregor, who faces Max Holloway in Saturday's main event, and the Irishman addressed Pereira's recent setback against Gane.
McGregor questions legality of Gane finish
"Unlucky last time, back of the head, I see it," McGregor said, per MMA Mania. "But, let it go. Let it go!" The Irishman also praised Pereira and his coach Plinio Cruz as having "champion blood" before the two posed for a photo.
McGregor is not the first to suggest Pereira stop dwelling on the Gane defeat. The loss sparked debate over the positioning of strikes that finished Pereira, with some observers questioning whether illegal blows to the back of the head played a role in the stoppage.
Pereira has confirmed his intent to return to heavyweight competition in November, targeting a bounce-back win before the end of 2026.
