Conor McGregor is pushing for Cris Cyborg to compete in bare-knuckle boxing.

BKFC president David Feldman told MMA Junkie that McGregor reached out early Sunday morning after BKFC fighter Cristine Ferea called out the former UFC featherweight champion. Cyborg had just defeated Ketlen Vieira by decision at PFL Tampa, though the bout was contested at catchweight after Vieira missed by seven pounds.

McGregor Messages BKFC President About Potential Matchup

"I wasn't but I think it's something we definitely can do," Feldman said, per BJ Penn. "It's funny because Conor messaged me early in the morning on Sunday and he was like, 'Who'd she call out? Cris, Cris, Cris Cyborg? Oh, that's a great fight. Let's do that one, Dave. Let's do that.' He was excited about it and I'm excited about it."

Feldman noted that both women present rare challenges in their respective disciplines. Ferea lacks quality opposition in BKFC, while Cyborg remains one of the sport's most dangerous strikers. The BKFC chief said a matchup between them could happen down the road.

Cyborg has not committed to retirement following her PFL victory. She recently hinted at involvement with Scott Coker's upcoming MMA promotion, though whether as a fighter or in another capacity remains unclear. BKFC 92 takes place Saturday at Fenway Park.
