Mayweather hit with lawsuit over Tyson and Pacquiao exhibitions
Floyd Mayweather is facing a lawsuit over his scheduled exhibition against Mike Zambidis in Greece next weekend.
CSI Sports Events, the company contracted to produce upcoming Mayweather exhibitions against Mike Tyson and Manny Pacquiao, filed the suit alleging the undefeated former champion violated his deal by agreeing to the Zambidis matchup, ESPN reports.
How the Zambidis fight conflicts with CSI contract
The suit centers on whether Mayweather's agreement with CSI Sports Events bars him from taking outside exhibition work while those proposed bouts are being assembled. CSI holds contracts for events featuring Mayweather against both Tyson and Pacquiao, two of the biggest names tied to his legacy.
Mayweather has not publicly addressed the legal claim. The Zambidis exhibition is set for Athens and would mark another in a string of international appearances since the 50-0 hall-of-famer retired from professional boxing.
No hearing date has been announced for the breach of contract case.
