Mateusz Gamrot signs new UFC deal ahead of Salkilld fight
Mateusz Gamrot has re-signed with the UFC ahead of his scheduled main event against Quillan Salkilld.
The Polish lightweight announced the multi-fight extension on X this week, per Sherdog, without specifying the number of bouts. "I'm grateful to the UFC for the trust and for recognizing my hard work," Gamrot wrote. "Thank you for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to keep proving myself on the biggest stage in the world."
Gamrot faces rising contender Salkilld on Aug. 8
The new deal keeps Gamrot locked in past his Aug. 8 main event assignment at UFC Fight Night 284 in Las Vegas, where he meets Australian contender Salkilld at the Meta Apex. Gamrot carries a 9-4 UFC record into the bout.
Since joining the promotion four years ago, Gamrot has notched wins over Arman Tsarukyan, Rafael dos Anjos and Jalin Turner. The extension signals the promotion's continued confidence in the 34-year-old as a fixture near the top of the lightweight division.
UFC Fight Night 284 takes place Aug. 8 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas.
