Makhachev Chases History At UFC 330 Amid Win Streak

Islam Makhachev enters UFC 330 with a chance to claim outright ownership of the promotion's all-time consecutive win record, according to ESPN's latest rankings of the sport's longest unbeaten runs.

The lightweight champion's current streak places him alongside the most dominant stretches in company history. Anderson Silva holds the official benchmark with 16 straight victories between 2006 and 2012, a span that saw the middleweight legend defend his title 10 times across multiple weight classes.

Where Makhachev Ranks Among UFC's Elite Win Streaks

Kamaru Usman sits second with 15 consecutive wins during his welterweight reign, while several fighters share space at 13 victories — a group that includes Georges St-Pierre's title run and Khabib Nurmagomedov's undefeated UFC stretch. Makhachev trains under Nurmagomedov at American Kickboxing Academy and has openly stated his goal to surpass his mentor's promotional mark.

The Dagestani fighter's path to the record has mirrored his predecessor's blueprint of relentless grappling control and finish-heavy performances. His last three defenses have come inside the distance, with opponents struggling to solve the puzzle once the fight hits the mat.

A win at UFC 330 would move Makhachev past St-Pierre and into sole possession of second place on the all-time list. Silva's record has stood for over a decade, surviving the reigns of Jon Jones, Demetrious Johnson, and the welterweight dominance of Usman.

UFC 330 takes place in May, with Makhachev's opponent to be announced during the promotion's next press cycle.
