Magomed Zaynukov makes UFC debut against Rzepecki in Abu Dhabi
Undefeated lightweight Magomed Zaynukov will step into the Octagon for the first time when he meets Damian Rzepecki at UFC Abu Dhabi on July 25 at Etihad Arena.
Marcel Dorff first reported the matchup, per Sherdog. Zaynukov secured his UFC contract with a decision win on Dana White's Contender Series this past October and has built a cult following before ever fighting under the promotion's banner. Islam Makhachev introduced the Dagestani striker to Demetrious Johnson on camera during "Mighty Mouse's" visit to the region, helping raise his profile ahead of the call-up.
Rzepecki brings knockout power to spoil debut
The 8-0 Zaynukov has stopped five opponents as a pro, an unusual finish rate for a fighter from Dagestan's wrestling-heavy lineage. Rzepecki could disrupt that momentum. The 24-year-old Pole carries a 10-0 record into Abu Dhabi with nine finishes — five by submission, four by knockout.
Both men will look to protect their unblemished records on the July 25 card at Yas Island.
