LFA heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight champion Lucas Fernando has signed with the UFC and will face Rafael Tobias at UFC 330 on Aug. 15 in Philadelphia, MMA Fighting reports.
Fernando holds a 13-3 record and carries the LFA 205-pound strap into his promotional debut. The 29-year-old previously appeared on Dana White's Contender Series, dropping a decision to Cesar Almeida, but has since reeled off four consecutive wins including back-to-back first-round knockouts in recent title defenses. He also held the LFA middleweight belt before moving to light heavyweight.
Tobias looks to rebound after debut loss
Tobias earned his UFC contract by submitting Jair de Oliveira on the Contender Series in 2025. The Brazilian, who competes under the nickname "Bipolar", is 14-2 overall but dropped his octagon debut to Diyar Nurgozhay by decision in March.
UFC 330 will take place at the Xfinity Mobile Arena and features two title fights atop the card. Islam Makhachev defends the welterweight championship against Ian Machado Garry, while Mackenzie Dern puts her strawweight belt on the line against Gillian Robertson.
