Lobov Blasts McGregor Over Alleged Betrayals
Artem Lobov has accused former training partner Conor McGregor of systematically stiffing the coaches and teammates who helped build his career, claiming the former two-division UFC champion broke financial promises to multiple members of his inner circle.
Lobov, who settled a multimillion-dollar lawsuit with McGregor last year over the Proper 12 whiskey brand, wrote on X that McGregor "took care of nobody" and cited several alleged examples. "Shook hands on different deals that they brought in, money came in but he didn't pay what was promised," Lobov wrote, per MMA Mania.
McGregor's Team Alleges Unpaid Promises
Among the claims: McGregor earned $100 million for the Floyd Mayweather fight but paid head coach John Kavanagh roughly $100,000 instead of the agreed five percent. Lobov also said McGregor paid TheMacLife.com founder Lee just 500 euros per week before tax for years, fired teammate Derek weeks before Christmas, and shorted training partner Gerry Vegas on a promised $20,000 camp payment.
Lobov blamed drugs and alcohol for the deterioration. "His drink and drug abuse brings out the worst in him and the sober Conor would never mistreat his brothers like that," he wrote. Lobov added the allegations are tied to why McGregor is pursuing a UFC return — to support the habit, according to the 40-year-old Russian.
Lobov previously claimed he did all the research and legwork to launch a McGregor whiskey brand before being cut out once the operation scaled. The two settled the lawsuit for several million dollars on the eve of trial last year, lending credibility to Lobov's version of events. McGregor has not publicly responded to the latest allegations.
