Ladd Falls Short In Trigon Debut At BKB 58
Former UFC women's bantamweight title challenger Aspen Ladd dropped a unanimous decision to Bianca Daimoni at BKB 58 in Miami on Saturday night, falling to 1-1 in her bare knuckle boxing career.
Ladd was one of two combat sports veterans making their Trigon debuts at the James L. Knight Center. Olympic gold medalist Yuriorkis Gamboa fared better, dominating fellow boxer Yesner Talavera over five rounds to win by unanimous decision with scores of 50-44 across the board, according to MMA Mania.
Trujillo Retains Heavyweight Strap With Second-Round Finish
BKB heavyweight champion Gustavo Trujillo defended his title by stopping former champion Mick Terrill at 2:29 of the second round. Trujillo improved to 9-0 with all nine wins coming by knockout.
In other championship action, Yunieski Gonzalez captured the vacant cruiserweight crown by knocking out Ethan George just 1:19 into the opening round. Alberto Blas retained his featherweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super featherweight belt with an even faster finish, stopping Brandon Birr at 1:57 of round one.
