Khamzat Chimaev addresses Dillon Danis brawl at RAF 10
Khamzat Chimaev has broken his silence on the brawl with Dillon Danis that erupted at the RAF 10 event.
Speaking to Red Corner MMA, Chimaev said the cage-side altercation was not his intention and that he expected to confront Danis away from the venue. "I didn't want this to happen. I thought I'd catch him outside," Chimaev said, per Sherdog.
Chimaev accuses Danis of submission attempt
The UFC welterweight also claimed Danis attempted a submission hold during their physical exchange. Footage circulating on social media appeared to show Danis applying a high wrist guillotine as the two grappled before security intervened.
Chimaev joked about the submission attempt in his interview with Red Corner MMA, though the full context of his remark was not disclosed in the published report. Neither fighter has been sanctioned by RAF officials as of this writing.
The incident marks the latest clash between the two grapplers, who have traded barbs on social media for months. No timeline has been announced for a potential formal matchup.
