Taylor's Retirement Promo Narrated By Keoghan

Matchroom Boxing released a promotional video for Katie Taylor's retirement fight that captures the emotional weight of her September 5 farewell at Croke Park in Dublin.

The Irish boxing legend defends her WBA, WBO, IBF and Ring Magazine lightweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super lightweight titles against undefeated French challenger Flora Pili, with the vacant WBC strap also on the line. A victory would make Taylor an undisputed champion for the third time before she retires. The promo, narrated by BAFTA-winning Irish actor Barry Keoghan, went live six days before fight night, as MMA Mania first reported.

Taylor's Farewell At Ireland's Largest Stadium

Taylor enters on a three-fight winning streak that includes back-to-back victories over longtime rival Amanda Serrano. Their first meeting in April 2022 became the first women's boxing match to headline Madison Square Garden. The Olympic gold medalist went 3-0 against Serrano across their trilogy, cementing one of the most significant rivalries in women's boxing history. Croke Park, Ireland's largest sporting arena, is expected to welcome more than 80,000 fans for her final ring walk. The last professional boxing event at the venue took place in 1972, when Muhammad Ali defeated Alvin Lewis.

"This seems like the perfect way to end it — by becoming Undisputed Champion again in our national stadium, which has such a special place in Irish hearts," Taylor said when the fight was announced. "People have travelled all around the world to follow my career, and I'm hoping I can repay some of that with a big performance on September 5."

Taylor carries a 25-1 record into the bout. A win over Pili would allow her to retire as a three-time undisputed champion in front of more than 80,000 supporters at the stadium she spent years hoping to headline.
