Katie Taylor Croke Park undercard set with Allen, McCann, Donovan

Matchroom Boxing has loaded the undercard for Katie Taylor's farewell fight at Dublin's Croke Park on September 5, with fan favorite Dave Allen headlining the support cast.

Allen will face Thomas Carty in a 10-round heavyweight bout, Bad Left Hook reports. The Doncaster brawler rebounded from his brutal May 16 loss to Filip Hrgovic with a club-level win last month and is slated for another four-rounder in July before stepping up against Carty, an 11-1 Dublin native. Allen carries a 26-9-2 record with 20 knockouts.

Donovan gets Belfast redemption shot on home soil

Limerick welterweight Paddy Donovan will meet Tyrone McKenna in another 10-rounder. Donovan won an IBF eliminator against Karen Chukhadzhian in May after dropping back-to-back disputed decisions to Lewis Crocker in Belfast. McKenna has lost five of nine but stopped Dylan Moran last September.

Former UFC flyweight Molly McCann continues her boxing transition against Sylwia Doligala in an eight-round bantamweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super bantamweight matchup. McCann stands 4-0 with one stoppage since switching codes. Taylor Bevan faces Emmet Brennan at middleweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super middleweight, while unbeaten super bantamweight Joe McGrail takes on Matthew Boreland. Irish heavyweight prospect Adam Olaniyan is scheduled for a four-rounder after opening his career with two stoppages.

Taylor headlines against Flora Pili in front of an expected 80,000 fans at what figures to be one of the biggest crowds in Irish boxing history. The two-weight undisputed champion has not confirmed whether the September date marks her final fight.
