Joshua Van Defeats Alexandre Pantoja

Joshua Van successfully defended his flyweight title with a unanimous decision win over Alexandre Pantoja in their UFC 331 rematch Saturday night in Los Angeles, settling the score after their controversial first meeting.

The pair's original fight at UFC 323 ended prematurely when Pantoja suffered an arm injury attempting to post during a takedown, handing Van the win and the undisputed title just 26 seconds in. Van went on to defend the belt with a stoppage of Tatsuro Taira before running it back with Pantoja.

This time, Van overcame early grappling exchanges to take over with his boxing, particularly his combination work, pulling ahead on the cards as the fight progressed through five rounds and closing out a clear decision victory.
