Joshua confident he'll beat Fury, whatever version shows up

Anthony Joshua says he can beat Tyson Fury no matter what version shows up when they finally meet in 2026.

Joshua faces Albania's Kristian Prenga in Jeddah on July 25, just 24 hours before Fury takes on Polish veteran Mariusz Wach in Pattaya, Thailand. Both fights serve as preparation for a proposed blockbuster later this year, and Joshua told DAZN he is not concerned about Fury's form or how many tune-ups his rival needs before they square off.

Joshua saw weaknesses in Fury's Tottenham performance

In April, Joshua watched from ringside as Fury outpointed Arslanbek Makhmudov over 12 rounds at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Fury grabbed the microphone afterward and called for a face-off, but Joshua stayed seated. He was busy studying what he had just witnessed.

"It's easy to say sitting outside, but I can see ways to beat Fury," Joshua said, per The Ring. "I'm not banking on Fury, whether he's going to be the best or his worst for me to win. I'm just confident in myself that I can beat him either way."

The 29-4 heavyweight added that his preparation will determine the outcome, not Fury's recent ring rust or comeback form. "I just know with the work that I'm doing, I'll beat Fury," he said. "I'm not worrying about his performance at Tottenham, how many warm-up fights he has or how good he's looking."

Both men must get past their July opponents without incident before negotiations move forward. Joshua holds 26 knockouts in 33 fights, while Fury has won 35 times with 24 stoppages.
