Joshua Backs Hearn On Pulling Fury Fight Amid White Row

Anthony Joshua will back Eddie Hearn's call to cancel the Tyson Fury fight if the promoter decides to walk away over the Dana White situation.

Hearn and White remain locked in a dispute that threatens the Dec. 11 bout between Fury and Joshua, one of the most anticipated heavyweight matchups in years. The UFC president claims he has a major role in promoting the fight, while Hearn insists contracts exclude White's involvement, per MMA Fighting. The bout is still scheduled, but Joshua made clear where his loyalties lie.

Joshua's Loyalty To Hearn Over Fury Bout

"My loyalty's with Eddie, so whatever he wants to do, if he wants to pull the plug, I'll be right there tugging that plug with him," Joshua told talkSPORT Boxing. White skipped Wednesday's press conference in London, where the crowd booed at the mention of his name. Hearn called White's handling of the situation "one of the greatest PR disasters in boxing."

Joshua acknowledged the fight has cleared several hurdles already, including holding it in the U.K. and enrolling in VADA testing. He said bringing the fight to Wales matters to his legacy and British boxing. The former unified heavyweight champion took less money early in his career to fight for a world title at home rather than in America.

"Just remember me as someone who fought for British boxing and tried to bring the respect back here," Joshua said. Both fighters are in the final stretch of decorated careers, having captured multiple heavyweight titles. The bout takes place Dec. 11 in Cardiff.
