Josh Hokit blasts Paddy Pimblett for 'two-faced' post-UFC 329 conduct
Josh Hokit says Paddy Pimblett exposed the insincerity running through the UFC roster.
Pimblett knocked out Benoit St. Denis in under a minute at UFC 329, then watched Conor McGregor suffer a first-round leg injury in the main event against Max Holloway. Before fight night, Pimblett stayed respectful toward McGregor, but after the Irishman's unfortunate exit, the Liverpool lightweight told reporters McGregor was done. "Oh my god, McGregor's done already? Well, he is finished," Pimblett said, per Sherdog. "The new boy is in town. The main man is here. I can become the face of the organization now."
Hokit calls out 'convenient' respect between fighters
Hokit, who has built his UFC profile on aggressive callouts backed by stoppage wins, pointed to Pimblett's shift as proof that most fighters only show respect when it suits them. "Fighters are the most two-faced people in the world," Hokit wrote on social media. "Nothing but respect and bow downs to one another when it's convenient… and you wonder why I do what I do." The heavyweight contender has drawn criticism for his trash talk, but he argues the sport's etiquette is selective at best.
Pimblett now sits at 24-4 after the St. Denis knockout earned him a performance bonus. Hokit remains unbeaten in the UFC and is campaigning for a top-fifteen matchup later this year.
