Joe Lauzon returns at BKFC 92 against Stash Kuykendall at Fenway Park

Former UFC lightweight Joe Lauzon will make his bare knuckle debut against Stash Kuykendall at BKFC 92 on Aug. 29 at Fenway Park in Boston, the promotion announced Tuesday.

Lauzon, 42, has not competed since stopping Jonathan Pearce in the first round at UFC Boston in 2019. The Massachusetts native was scheduled three times to face Donald Cerrone in 2022, but the bout fell apart repeatedly before being scrapped entirely, per MMA Mania.

Why Lauzon came out of retirement for BKFC

Lauzon later said he was semi-retired and would only return for something highly intriguing. Fighting at Fenway Park in his hometown qualified. "Fenway is one of the most iconic venues in the world, and getting to fight there in Boston is something I'm really excited about," he wrote in announcing the matchup. "This is going to be a crazy night, and I'd love to see a ton of familiar faces there."

Kuykendall, 34, is 0-2 in BKFC with both losses by knockout. He went 6-2 in regional mixed martial arts between 2012 and 2021, finishing every opponent before transitioning to bare knuckle in 2025. Last month he returned to MMA and was knocked out in the first round by Jarrod St. Jean.

Lauzon spent his entire UFC run at lightweight and earned 15 post-fight bonuses, tied for second-most in promotion history. BKFC 92 marks the first combat sports card at Fenway Park.
