Jessica Andrade works delivery job during UFC injury layoff

Former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade has been driving deliveries to supplement her income while recovering from a shoulder injury that has kept her out of the cage for nearly a year.

Andrade, who captured the 115-pound belt and later challenged for the flyweight title across 30 UFC bouts, told Ag Fight that she uses a mobile app to pick up meal delivery orders between rehabilitation sessions. "Thank God I managed to save some money, so things are going well," she said. "But whenever I need to, I work as a delivery driver. I deliver meals and things like that. I just pick up orders through an app and make the deliveries. I do whatever it takes. I'm not afraid of hard work. I can do just about anything."

Andrade's history of financial struggles in the UFC

The Brazilian has also taken on home renovation work recently, helping a friend install artificial turf after clearing rocks from a backyard. She said the project could become another revenue stream if she proves skilled at it.

Andrade previously disclosed financial difficulties in 2018 when she sold UFC memorabilia to cover expenses. She also revealed last year that her former management failed to pay taxes owed from several 2023 fights, though she did not specify which bouts or how much was owed.

Andrade has not announced a timeline for her octagon return but remains focused on her shoulder rehab.
