Jaylen Brown Steps Into The Ring For Amateur Boxing Debut

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown tried his hand at boxing this week, taking part in an amateur bout in Nigeria.

Combat sports run in the family — Brown's father, Quinton Marselles Brown, spent the 1990s as a professional heavyweight, stepping in with names like Trevor Berbick and Tommy Morrison and even facing off against Lamon Brewster before he became a world champion.

This wasn't Brown's first venture outside basketball, either. He squared up with a street fighter in Morocco back in July and has quietly built years of Muay Thai experience, including time spent training at the UFC Performance Institute. Back in February, Brown confirmed he'd even discussed a possible post-NBA fighting career with UFC boss Dana White.
