Jalin Turner signed a five-fight UFC contract after his 39-second knockout of Kaue Fernandes at UFC 330, the lightweight told Ariel Helwani.

The finish earned Turner a $100,000 performance bonus and marked the first bout on his new deal. His previous contract had expired with a first-round knockout of Edson Barboza last December, per Sherdog.

Turner Passes On Free Agency After Brief Retirement

Turner said he let his manager field offers from other promotions but ultimately chose to re-sign with the UFC. "I let my manager handle all that," he said. "I'm happy with the UFC. I ain't saying nothing else about it. I mean I heard some talks. But ultimately, the UFC came through; they always come through. So, I'm still here. I'm happy. I can't complain."

The 30-year-old briefly retired following a loss to Ignacio Bahamondes last year, citing emotional difficulty with hurting opponents after brutal finishes of Dan Hooker and Bobby Green. He returned with a changed mindset and has now stopped two opponents in the first round since coming back.

Turner has four fights remaining on his current contract. No opponent has been announced for his next appearance.
