Jake Paul vs. Chavez Jr. Preview

Jake Paul boxes Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 28 as we preview this upcoming fight.

Paul arrives into the fight with a unanimous decision win against Mike Tyson. The fight shattered records, becoming the most-watched boxing event in history. It also earned Jake a reported $40 million. Talks with Canelo Alvarez over a fight broke down, as the Mexican chose to box William Scull instead.

Meanwhile, Chavez Jr. is the ex-WBC Middleweight Champion. However, since then, he has not had the best career. He last boxed Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry undercard, as he beat ex-UFC fighter Uriah Hall via a unanimous decision. The win took his record to 54-6. Paul knows a win takes him closer to a possible world title fight against either the WBC Cruiserweight Champion Badou Jack and the WBA and WBO Cruiserweight Champion Zurdo Ramirez.

Pre-Fight

"This is a former world champion, he has an amazing resume. He’s following in his dad’s footsteps — coming short, of course. I want to test myself against the best. I’m going to shock the world once again. This is his toughest fight to date. I’m going to embarrass him and make him quit like he always does," Paul stated

"Yes [I’m motivated to end Paul’s career]. [I still think] that I’m better than Jake Paul, so I think after this fight maybe Jake continues to fight [and tries] to be a [better] boxer, but I don’t think he has [the] skills and everything [necessary to] win [against me]. I want to end Jake Paul’s career. I liked the idea [of fighting Paul] because I think the fight [has come at the right time]. I [thought] about [taking the fight because] Jake is very popular, [and] I’m pretty sure that I’ll win this fight," Chavez said
