Jake Paul claims NFL teams interested after Joshua loss

Jake Paul says NFL teams have expressed interest in signing him following his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua earlier this year.

The YouTube-turned-boxer told Front Office Sports at Fanatics Fest in New York City that he has spoken with coaches who want to bring him aboard. Paul, 29, criticized the level of talent in the league and insisted he would outperform current rosters.

Paul claims superior athleticism to NFL players

"I think there's a lot of super-mediocrity in the NFL, a lot of not-good athletes, a lot of people dropping passes on a consistent basis," Paul said, per MMA Mania. "I have better hands than them, I'm faster than them, I'm stronger than them, I work harder than them."

Paul did not name specific teams or coaches. The claim comes after he was stopped by Joshua in their boxing match, raising questions about his future in combat sports.

Other athletes with more traditional football backgrounds have attempted similar crossovers with mixed results. Greg Hardy fought in the UFC heavyweight division but was knocked out in multiple bouts before leaving the promotion. No timeline has been announced for Paul's potential football debut.
