Jake Paul has lined up former Glory kickboxing champion Cédric Doumbé for a December 24 bout in Dubai, Bad Left Hook reports.

The matchup puts the 29-year-old social media star against a 34-year-old two-time kickboxing world champion who has boxed professionally just once, back in 2015. Paul has been recovering from a jaw injury sustained in his most recent fight and will compete at cruiserweight over eight rounds.

The bout comes after Doumbé repeatedly called out Paul on social media following quick knockout victories in kickboxing. Paul acknowledged the history in his fight announcement, mocking his opponent's credentials while noting his own recent setbacks. "This isn't kickboxing mon ami. This is BOXING," Paul said.

Doumbé brings extensive striking experience from his Glory championship runs but minimal boxing-specific competition. Per the report, the Frenchman claims he will complete what Anthony Joshua began in shutting down Paul's trash talk for good.

Paul has maintained his long-term aim of competing for a legitimate world title despite criticism of his opponent choices. The Christmas Eve date in Dubai represents his first ring appearance since the jaw injury that forced an extended layoff.
