Jake Hager knocked out cold in third round at Power Slap 21
Former WWE champion Jake Hager absorbed his first combat sports knockout Friday night at Power Slap 21 in Las Vegas when Amanpreet Singh flattened him with a third-round connection that left the 44-year-old sitting unconscious on the stage.
The finish marked a sharp reversal for Hager, who won his Power Slap debut three months earlier with a knockout of his own as part of a six-fight deal with the promotion. MMA Mania reports that Singh's slap forcefully dropped Hager in the decisive third round.
From WWE ring to slap fighting stage
Hager, better known to wrestling fans as Jack Swagger during his WWE run, brought an undefeated Bellator MMA record into slap fighting before retiring from cage competition in 2023. He told reporters at the time that he walked away because Bellator "was jerking me off," per MMA Mania.
The loss represents Hager's first defeat involving getting struck unconscious, though he absorbed plenty of scripted losses during his professional wrestling career and fell short in legitimate high school and collegiate wrestling matches years earlier.
Power Slap has not announced Hager's next booking or whether he will continue with the remaining fights on his contract.
