Smith Steps In For UFC Vegas 123 Co-Main
Undefeated welterweight prospect Jacobe Smith will face Randy Brown in the UFC Vegas 123 co-main event on 12 days' notice. The bout takes place Oct. 31 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, as Heavy.com first reported.
Brown was set to meet Carlos Leal before Leal withdrew from the Halloween card. Smith (13-0) accepted the replacement spot despite never receiving a full training camp for any of his four UFC appearances, per MMA Mania.
Smith's Short-Notice Streak Continues
The 30-year-old prospect is coming off a first-round knockout of Bruce Whitehead at UFC 332 earlier this month, needing less than two minutes to finish the fight. Before that, Smith stopped Josiah Harrell in three minutes at UFC Houston. A win over Brown would give Smith a 3-0 record for 2026.
Brown (20-8) enters on a two-fight skid, losing to Gabriel Bonfim in his first UFC main event before dropping a decision to Kevin Holland, the same fighter Smith has called out repeatedly. The veteran is 4-3 across his last seven UFC appearances and represents a significant experience test for the unbeaten prospect.
The UFC Vegas 123 card is scheduled for Oct. 31, with Renato Moicano and Tom Nolan headlining.
