Ismael Laguna, a two-time world lightweight champion and International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, passed away Tuesday at the age of 83.

ESPN reported the death of the Panamanian legend, who captured world titles in the 1960s and 1970s during a career that spanned two decades. Laguna first won the lightweight crown in 1965 and reclaimed it in 1970, cementing his place among boxing's elite.

Laguna's Hall Of Fame Legacy

The International Boxing Hall of Fame enshrined Laguna in its Class of 2001, recognising his technical skill and longevity in one of boxing's most competitive eras. He fought out of Panama City and became one of his country's most decorated fighters.
