Humphrey Warns UFC Welterweights After DWCS Finish

Ronald Humphrey dropped Alexis Miranda with a jab, slammed him to the canvas, and choked him out in the first round Tuesday night at Dana White's Contender Series Week 3.

The undefeated welterweight prospect (5-0) then delivered a warning to the entire division. Humphrey told the broadcast his goal is the title and anyone standing in his path should prepare for the same fate as Miranda, per Sherdog. Blood from a first-round elbow smeared across his face, Humphrey said his very presence should serve as notice to the 170-pound roster.

Humphrey's Violent Path To UFC Gold

Humphrey has finished all five professional opponents and has seen the second round only once. Against Miranda (9-3), he opened with a slam, landed the elbow that split his opponent open, then dropped him with a punch before securing the rear-naked choke.

The 25-year-old earned a UFC contract with the performance and made clear he intends to move fast. Humphrey has trained out of Florida's Hard Knocks 365 and compiled his record across regional circuits in the Southeast.

No debut date has been announced for Humphrey, who joins a welterweight division currently headlined by champion Belal Muhammad and contenders like Shavkat Rakhmonov and Jack Della Maddalena.
