Holloway On Facing McGregor Again – ‘We Have History'
Max Holloway (27-9) has broken his silence on the rumoured rematch with Conor McGregor (22-6) at UFC 329 on July 11, making clear the fight is one he wants — but revealing he is currently preparing for it without a signed contract.
It is the clearest confirmation yet that the fight is being built toward without being formally locked in — a position Holloway has found himself in before and one he is navigating with his usual candour. Despite the uncertainty, he has not slowed his preparation.
The fight would close out International Fight Week at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with UFC 329 currently without an official main event. McGregor is targeting his first Octagon appearance since July 2021, when he suffered a broken leg against Dustin Poirier in the third bout of their trilogy at UFC 264. That injury has kept him sidelined for nearly five years. Holloway has emerged as the frontrunner to welcome him back.

Holloway has not tried to hide his interest. He is also coming in with something to prove after losing the BMF title to Charles Oliveira by unanimous decision at UFC 326 in March — a defeat that snapped a strong run and left a question mark he wants answered quickly.
“We have history. If somebody’s got one over me, I want to get him back. Anything with Conor McGregor is huge, but having history with the dude, being able to get one back would be cool,” Holloway
