Hearn Revives Joshua-Fury Plans After Addendum Reply

Eddie Hearn confirmed Tuesday that Saudi promoters Sela responded to Matchroom's venue addendum, keeping Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury alive for a potential November date at Madison Square Garden.

Boxing Insider reports that Hearn told BoxingScene the reply arrived after two weeks of silence, Joshua has been paid for his scheduled tune-up against Daniel Prenga, and all parties are moving forward. Fury had spent the delay calling out Hearn on Instagram, claiming the promoter and his fighter wanted more money for the switch from the UK to New York.

Madison Square Garden Negotiations Resume

Hearn acknowledged his side still prefers a UK venue under the original contract's protection clause but told BoxingScene he understands why others want the fight in America. The addendum remains unsigned, and Hearn now faces the job of getting Saudi backers, Joshua, and Fury's team to commit to MSG. Meanwhile, TKO has asked whether Dana White can be involved in the production, and Frank Warren spent August positioning himself as the rival promoter capable of delivering the fight without Matchroom.

Joshua vs. Fury has been signed with Saudi funding and Netflix distribution since June. The venue dispute threatened to scuttle the entire deal before Tuesday's development put the fight back on the table. Hearn has a November date available and Madison Square Garden ready to host if he can close the addendum negotiations in the next two weeks.
