Bogdan Guskov refuses to bet everything on a single strategy when he faces Robert Whittaker at UFC Sydney.

The heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight contender told Red Corner MMA he's developing at least three or four distinct approaches for his Feb. 7 bout against the former middleweight champion at Afterpay Arena. Guskov enters the co-main event at 18-4-1, while Whittaker brings a 27-9 record and championship-level experience that demands serious preparation.

Per Sherdog, Guskov explained that fighting a former titleholder requires backup plans if the initial tactics fail. He emphasized that determining which approach works will happen inside the Octagon, not during camp. The Russian stressed his intent to deliver the kind of action-packed performance fans expect from him, adding that he plans to hunt for a knockout finish.

Guskov acknowledged the unpredictability of preparing for someone at Whittaker's level. The Australian will be crafting his own game plan, and Guskov said he cannot know which version of Whittaker will show up on fight night. The matchup marks Whittaker's return to home soil against a dangerous opponent moving through the middleweight ranks.
