Greg Jackson: Gable Steveson Most Talented Athlete I've Seen
Greg Jackson says Gable Steveson possesses athletic ability unlike anything he has witnessed in decades of coaching elite fighters.
The 26-year-old Olympic heavyweight wrestling champion makes his Octagon debut against Elisha Ellison at UFC 329 in Las Vegas on July 11, and Jackson — who has worked with Georges St. Pierre, Rashad Evans, Holly Holm, and Jon Jones — told Sherdog that Steveson stands apart from all of them.

"I've worked with most of the greatest fighters to ever do this game, and his athletic ability is unprecedented," Jackson said on the UFC 329 "Embedded" series, per Sherdog. "The way he thinks about things, how smart he is, how coachable, you need to tune in now to see where the ceiling for this guy is. He might be redefining what this sport is."
Steveson captured heavyweight gold at the Tokyo Olympics in August 2021 and turned pro last year. Training under Jones, he has finished all three opponents in the first round.
Jackson called winning Olympic gold at heavyweight in wrestling "so hard to do, I can't even tell you," and framed Steveson's debut as a must-watch event for anyone curious about the sport's future. "Where is the ceiling? What can he accomplish?" Jackson asked.
Steveson faces Ellison on the undercard of UFC 329, with the main event featuring Conor McGregor and Max Holloway.
