Garcia Threatens To Sue Bill Haney
Ryan Garcia is threatening to sue Bill Haney.
Bill Haney lit the fuse on Friday with a post on X: "PED boy had more in his system than just Ostarine,” claiming the failed tests that followed Garcia's April 2024 majority decision over Devin Haney revealed more than the substance Garcia has publicly acknowledged.
Garcia's response was immediate and came with a lawsuit attached.
"Ima hit you with a lawsuit, Mr Haney. For one being a bitch and one for constant lying on me. It's been confirmed and documented I was suspended for not disclosing supplements I was using. It's a fact that the amount I had was not enough to benefit me. Hold that L,” Garcia
The three-way exchange is the loudest the feud has been in weeks. Garcia's legal threat mirrors the dynamic from earlier in this dispute, when Bill Haney sent a cease-and-desist to Garcia's camp during a previous flare-up — a document Garcia has since referenced mockingly. Now Garcia is pointing the legal language back at the Haney family.
The underlying facts have not changed, though both sides continue to contest what they mean. Garcia tested positive for ostarine following the April 2024 fight, a result that led to his majority decision victory over Devin Haney being overturned to a no-contest. Garcia has consistently maintained that the amount detected was trace, insufficient to provide any performance-enhancing benefit, and the result of contamination rather than deliberate use. He received a suspension for failing to disclose the supplements he was taking rather than for intentional doping — a distinction his camp has leaned on repeatedly.
The Haneys have never accepted that distinction. Bill's Friday post goes further than previous statements, alleging additional substances beyond ostarine were detected — a claim Garcia explicitly denied and has now said he will pursue legally. Whether a lawsuit materialises is a separate question.
