PFL Austin card reshuffled after dual injury withdrawals

Two injury withdrawals have forced the Professional Fighters League to reshuffle its Austin card just days before Saturday's event at Moody Center.

Levy Saul Marroquin has been pulled from the July 18 card, Sherdog reports, leaving Joey Ruquet without an opponent. The promotion has rebooked Ruquet against former PFL featherweight champion Jesus Pinedo in a 145-pound bout on the main card. Meanwhile, Sergio Pettis has withdrawn due to injury, opening a spot in the co-main event that Rafael do Nascimento will now fill opposite 2024 PFL Europe bantamweight champion Lewis McGrillene-Evans.

Eblen-Kasanganay rematch headlines PFL Austin main card

The main event remains intact, with former Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen facing 2023 PFL heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight tournament winner Impa Kasanganay for the interim middleweight title. The bout was scheduled after undisputed champion Costello van Steenis sustained an injury that forced him to the sidelines. Caolan Loughran meets Julio Arce in a featherweight contest earlier on the ESPN broadcast.

The preliminary card features Biaggio Ali Walsh against Gamid Khizriev at lightweight, Andrea Vazquez meeting Aleksandra Savicheva, unbeaten prospect Mia Grawe squaring off with Ashley Thiner, Jackson Glass facing Zak Flessas at featherweight, and Victoria Alba colliding with Borena Tsertsvadze in women's flyweight action. Prelims stream on the ESPN app at 5:30 p.m. ET before the main card airs on ESPN 2 at 8 p.m. ET.
