Garcia And Benn Hit Weight Before WBC Title Fight

Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn cleared the final hurdle before their WBC welterweight title fight Saturday in Las Vegas.

Garcia tipped the scales at 145.5 pounds during Friday's official weigh-in, while Benn came in at 146, MMA Mania reports. The bout is now confirmed for Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena. Garcia had publicly voiced concerns about whether Benn would make weight, but the Brit hit his mark without issue.

Ceremonial Weigh-In And Final Staredown Set For Friday Night

Both fighters will take part in the ceremonial weigh-in later Friday, their last promotional obligation before the opening bell. The lead-up has featured pointed exchanges, with Benn mocking Garcia's Spanish-speaking skills and Garcia skipping a planned midweek faceoff in the city.

The co-main event also passed weigh-in without incident. Cruiserweight titleholder Jai Opetaia weighed 199 pounds for his defence against Noel Mikaelian, who came in at 200. Opetaia's Zuffa Boxing and Ring Magazine straps are on the line.

First bell for Garcia-Benn is scheduled for approximately 11 p.m. ET Saturday.
